Depart from Montreal at 7:00am to the fourth-largest city in Canada: Ottawa. Ottawa is not just the capital of the Canadian government but it is also one of the most diverse cities in the world. This vibrant city offers everything from global sporting events and shopping adventures to museum and family activities. Ottawa has it all. The city is situated on the Ottawa River about 200 km (125 miles) west of Montreal. We will take a cruise to admire the beautiful scenery from the Ottawa river. To capture unique and spectacular views of some of the city’s attractions such as the Parliament Buildings, Canadian Museum of History , Rideau Falls, and the Prime Minister’s residence. With these landmarks as your backdrop Capital Cruises is the ideal way to tour the Ottawa River. No visit to Ottawa is complete without a visit to Parliament Hill, the seat of Canada’s national government and the setting for year-round celebration and ceremony. The Parliament Buildings sit at top the Hill, the gorgeous Gothic-style structures overlooking the Ottawa River. The buildings are home to, among other things, the House of Commons, the Library of Parliament, the Hall of Honor, the Senate, and the impressive Peace Tower. Then, spend a couple of hours exploring Canadian Museum of History (formerly the Canadian Museum of Civilization) – gorgeous architecture and world-renowned exhibitions convene to create Canada’s most-visited museum. It provides detailed insight into 20,000 years of human history. Then we visit the Rideau Hall which is the official residence and workplace of every governor general since 1867. We also have chance to visit War museum, Canada’s national museum of military history. Canada’s rich military history is showcased through personal stories, artwork, photographs and interactive presentations that expand our knowledge of the conflicts that shaped Canada, Canadians and the world, as well as the roll Canadians played in them. We will leave Ottawa around 6:00 PM and will arrive in Montreal around 8:30pm.
