Fort Henry is located in Kingston; it was built during the war in 1812 to prevent the invasion of the United States. It is the largest and strongest military fortifications in Ontario. During the First World War Fort Henry served as a facility for Ukrainian, during the Second World War the fort served as a prison for German. Today it is a Military Museum and a major tourist attraction in Kingston.
Inside, we will see the show of 19th century military life; include the military musical performances, marching demonstrations, changing of the Guard and some special ceremonies and events. Fort Henry is a national historic site, and in 2007, was registered in the UNESCO world cultural heritage.
